MAH-Let only threw up once last night. Thank God. But then, she kept complaining of unbearable pains in the stomach. I feared it was something worse than just stomach flu and decided to bring her to KK hospital.
As the swine flu was still on high alert (orange alert), there was an unexpected small crowd at the hospital. I thought it was going to be super crowded. MAH-Let was still crying in pain while waiting for her turn to see the doctor. It really upsets me to know that we couldn't do anything for her to alleviate that pain.
Finally, her turn came. We answered to every question which the doctor asked and 1 got me really pissed.
Doctor : Had she EATEN anything today or over the last few days
MAH-Tai : She hadn't EATEN anything since Wed, when it happened.
Doctor : Define that
MAH-Tai : (puzzled - define what???) She hadn't eaten anything since wednesday. Only drank some water but even then, she throws up each time we gave it to her.
Doctor : So, she had something.
MAH-Tai : (super pissed) But that's drinking! (You didn't ask about drinking! You moron!)
Doctor : But you said she hadn't had anything but she had.
MAH-Tai : (looked at MAH-Ge who knew what was coming and calmed MAH-Tai down) hmpf...hmpf.... (mumbled under her breath)
What the hell! I know the difference between eating and drinking! Stupid doctor asked if she had EATEN anything and not if she HAD anything! Anyway, think he knew that I wasn't the least happy and he tried to joke and sucked me up. It doesn't work, idiot!
He checked and found hard stools and ordered MAH-Let to have them flushed out. He thinks she's constipated. It was really difficult to get MAH-Let to take the anti-pain (antacid) medicine and even more difficult to get her to lie down to have a tube of medicine stuffing up her anus. My poor baby. We had to hold her down while she was screaming at the top of her voice in protest and pain. I felt myself crying with her as she screamed. I held her tightly after the whole ordeal and told her that I'm with her and am sorry to have her go through this. I know how she feels and the pain that she's going through cause I went through this discomfort before I gave birth to both kids.
After a couple of minutes, she asked to go to the toilet. She flushed out almost everything. Thank God, she felt better after that. She still refused to take the antacids and told us that her stomach wasn't as painful as before. We had to give it to her still. She threw up right after the antacids went in. Anyway, the doctor saw her again and said that she had most of the stools out but there were still some in there. He said to leave them alone and let them come out when she had the urge. I'd rather she took stool softeners or laxatives to have it out than to let her go through that again. My poor baby....
We picked up about 6 or 7 bottles of medicine for her before heading back home. By then, it was already 3pm. MAH-Ge and I finally had lunch. It was about 8+ in the morning when we left home.
